2019 International Assembly - Part 2
Each year in January, around 530 Rotary District Governors-Elect representing 35,000 Rotary clubs and over 1.2 million Rotarians from around the world gather in San Diego, California, USA.  At this week long event they meet the Rotary International President-Elect, prepare for their year to lead their respective Rotary districts and share Rotary at the International Assembly. Rotary's annual training meeting gives incoming district governors the chance to share ideas for strengthening clubs and improving communities with Rotary leaders from around the world.
Keynote speakers and informative presentations will inspire them and prepare them to lead their district successfully. Idea exchanges, roundtable discussions, and workshops will lead them to new ways of creating positive change.
LaShonda Brown Delivuk's presentation “Membership Begins at the Club” was among the many inspiring speeches given at the 2019 International Assembly.
LaShonda Delivuk is currently serving as the President of the Rotary Club of Lynchburg-Morning at just 28 years old. She is a member of the Paul Harris Society and has achieved her PHF+2. In 2018, she received the 110% Award, the Douglas A. Newton Excellence in Communications Award and helped her club achieve a first place Governor's Award for Public Image which later accompanied the club's first Rotary Citation. On the district level she serves as District 7570 Public Image Vice Chair.

In August, her insights on membership were featured in The Rotarian and her annual Women in Rotary Tea Party, which functions as a both a membership event and World's Greatest Meal has quickly become a district favorite.

When she's not volunteering, she and her husband Josh of six years run three businesses Life Focus Pictures, About 90 Marketing and Eye for Ebony simultaneously which provide marketing assistance to small business and non-profits worldwide through video production, web design and stock photography. She is passionate about time management, strategic marketing and teaching people to be impactful with their service.

One fun fact about LaShonda:
She recently went "over the edge" rappelling 13 stories off the tallest building in downtown Lynchburg to raise money for charity. Through this creative fundraising idea and social media strategy, she was able to raise over $1000 in less than seven days while engaging members of her club to do the same. The Rotary Edgers raised over $5000 for HumanKind as the fundraiser's #1 team.
