This is part four of a six week series on immigration. In early July 2015, the United Nations reported that the number of people fleeing the war in Syria had surpassed 4 million, making it the worst refugee crisis of our generation.

Over the last two months, the number of refugees arriving to Europe has reached staggering new heights as Europe struggles to deal with the increasingly difficult crisis. One of the main routes into Europe is through Greece, a country that is already struggling with its own economic crisis.

To profile the refugee crisis in Europe, we look this week at Leros, a tiny Greek island seven miles from the Turkish coast where more migrants arrived in the month of July than the entire 2014 year.
